It was a tough call. We received a ton of amazing submissions from Producers AND Rappers from all over the world – From India to Amsterdam to all over the US. Due to showcase time constraints (because of so many AMAZING happenings at the ASCAP EXPO), we could only pick 8 Producers and 3 Artists…Difficult decision(s), to say the least…
Without further ado, click the video below by @iStandard Co-CEO/Founder Don Di Napoli aka @ThrillCollins, to see who has been selected to be a part of the iStandard Producer & Rapper Showcase – 9:30PM on April 28, 2011, at The Hollywood Highlands:
The judge panel for this event is going to be one for the books, as we’re proud to present:
The Legendary Traxster
One of Chicago’s finest, Traxster has produced hits for the likes of Mariah Carey, Twista, Ludacris, Mystikal, Tech N9ne, Cam’ron, E-40, and more. A frequent collaborator with No I.D., this will be Traxster’s first time judging an iStandard event, and we are very exciting to have this legend in the building!
Boi1da
Originally from Jamaica, Boi1da moved to Toronto at a young age and has helped ignite a hip hop scene in our northern neighbor’s community. In only 2 short years, he has moved up to the A-List of the production world, producing hits for the likes of Drake, Eminem, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Keri Hilson, and the list just keeps on growing. This is also Boi1da’s first iStandard event, and we are very excited to have him.
Needlz
Needlz has described his production as “an oxymoron: clean and dirty at the same time,” and that is quite eminent in his production with artists such as Cassidy, Swizz Beatz, Lupe Fiasco, Drake, 50 Cent, and just about anyone and everyone over the psat few years. Needlz has been one of our biggest supporters thus far, judging events in NYC, ATL, and now LA at the ASCAP EXPO!
Symbolyc One aka S1
This Dallas, TX based producer is one of iStandard’s alumni that has really taken his game to the next level. After being a part of our showcases at the One Stop Shop in Phoenix and Beats on the Beach in Miami, S1 has graduated into his own stratosphere, co-producing Kanye West’s 2010 smash single “Power”, as well as working with the likes of Rhymefest, Ghostface, Little Brother, Tanya Morgan, and more. S1 has judged a few iStandard events, and is a huge staple in our production world!
